Welcome to the European Ornithologists’ Union
The objectives of the EOU are the advancement of ornithology and the promotion of the scientific study of birds within Europe. To this end, the EOU holds conferences at different places in Europe, promotes communication between European ornithologists and engages in other activities designed to advance ornithology in Europe. Any person seriously interested in the study of birds in Europe is welcome to join. Membership is free.

XVI EOU Congress 2027
The venue for the next EOU Congress in 2027 will be Brno, Czechia. The call for symposia, round table discussions and pre-congress meetings is now open! See the noticeboard for further details, or check the conference website for regular updates.
About the venue: The congress venue will be the boutique Hotel Passage in Brno, the second-largest city in the Czech Republic. Brno is a vibrant university town whose city centre offers a rich mix of historical landmarks, restaurants, cafés, and cultural attractions. Situated in the heart of South Moravia, Brno is surrounded by a region renowned for both its cultural heritage and exceptional natural diversity. The surrounding diverse habitats support a rich avifauna, making the area around Brno an excellent destination for birdwatching.
