The European Ornithologists’ Conference 2023 was held in Lund, Sweden.
In our first full in-person conference since the Covid-19 pandemic, 465 delegates from 26 countries were educated, stimulated and entertained by a wide range of plenaries, symposia, talks, posters and round-table discussions covering every aspect of ornithology
Sadly, the in person EOU conference planned for March 2022 in Giessen was cancelled.
Quickly rising numbers of Covid cases around Europe eventually made it impossible to proceed. Instead, a one-day online conference, including most of the plenary talks and the General Assembly, was held on 15 March 2022.
Our most recent conference has taken place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. It was a vibrant display of Ornithology in Europe and beyond with 372 participants of 37 countries and all 6 continents. During the conference 7 plenaries, 157 orals and 150 posters were presented.
Over 400 delegates from 36 countries participated, and shared and discussed their research in numerous oral and poster contributions. Delegates elected a new council with great coverage of Europe. Read more in the President’s reflections.
