I’m a postdoctoral researcher, currently at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland and interested in the function of sleep. For my research I established a minimally-invasive method to study sleep in nature (at the Department of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland and the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology in Seewiesen, Germany) and I study inter-individual differences in brain activity of barn owl (Tyto alba) nestlings in nature.

My prospects for the EOU:
I’m very motivated to join the EOU council. My prospects from this work is to help advancing the field of ornithological research via connecting researchers working with birds. I would like to help especially young researchers to be more connected and to organize workshops or other activities. Also the dialogue with the public is extremely important and I would like to work on ideas and start projects to facilitate discussion with the public.
